About the Artist
I,m married and we have 6 offspring ,11 grandkids and numerous dog amongst us. most of them feature in this site (thats the Dogs not the grandkids) we all live in the south west of Western Austrailia a beautiful peaceful place. We are so fortunate.
I have had a talent for drawing and cartooning all of my life. But only on a casual basses but became interested in painting almost exclusively in watercolours over 25 years ago. This was due to a gradual awareness of how good my great grandfather (Alfred Levido) art was. His art was in a number of my relatvies homes including our own. Click on his name to view some of his art . I realizing at the mature age of about 40 that I needed to try and paint in this medium (Watercolour,s) and like him this it turns out is a life long commitment and to me great fun.
At about this time I came across the Australind Art Club (1998) at one of their local exhibitions and found that I could learn to paint. it slotted around family life and full time shift work allowing me to paint on my days off.
I have exhibited in many of the club exhibitions over the years and at the same time was able to hone my art skills under ever watchful eye of club tutor Judy Noble.
I have also been a regular exhibitor at most of the Bunbury Catholic Collage Art Extrordinaires annual Exhibitions over the past 20 years or more and participated in numerous rural and regional art exhibitions.
I have found the art form has many facets and styles. I have never been shy in trying a few of these out from time to time. Of late I have ventured into pen and wash dog caricatures after being approched to draw dogs at an RSPCA Million paws walk in Bunbury W.A. This has lead me to dog and personal caricature, Dog Portraits commissions and running some workshops within the art ciub and the Stirling street Art Centre summer schools.
The fun goes on .
Another important part of my life is being a member of the Bahai Faith for the last 44 years. Click the link if you are curious about that.
